I'm working on an assignment for university called 'A Journey - From Ordinary to Extraordinary' which is really open to our own interpretation, but basically we just have to portray everyday things in a different light.
I've been researching schizophrenia (which my elder brother suffers from - partly the reason why I am doing this), paranoia and it's symptoms. Apart from the obvious, in some severe cases people suffering from schizophrenia can remain motionless in bizarre postures. I tried to convey a sense of isolation and a withdrawal into ones own reality with this photo, including the bizarre posture which, due to it's nature, can also be seen as an act of self defence.
This was merely meant to be a test shot from some I was doing with my girlfriend, but I quite like it so I thought I'd post it.
Taken at 24mm, shutter speed 1/15, aperture 4.0 and ISO-1000. Curves and level adjustments for contrast and colour balancing for tone.
