This is a photo I took for the assignment Colour100 we were given at University. We each had to produce 100 images of a combination of two colours. I had Red and Yellow. When not taking photos simply for a Aesthetic purposes, I concentrated on what the two colours represented; symbolically, physically or practically.
In this photograph I focused on the colour red representing love and the balloon is symbolic of this. In the little girls hands it is a child-like love, that as not yet experience the real world of pain, anger and loss. The yellow colour of her dress, symbolic of optimism, hope and happiness tie in together with the balloon to highlight this innocence.
Shot at 24mm, shutter speed 1/320, aperture 4.0 and ISO-50. Some curves and level adjustments for brightness and just a teeny bit of desaturation. Again let me know if there are any really dark spots on the photo.
