Unfortunately, this is the first photo I've posted in two weeks. As mentioned here, I've been very busy with summer. To top things off, the dial that adjusts the shutter speed and aperture on my camera has decided to stop working. Fortunately I've got a guarantee so I'm going to take it back to the shop as soon as I get the chance.
This photo was taken over the weekend on the Isle of Wight. A couple of friends and I stayed there for a friends birthday. We started off at a crazy South African restaurant called Ferrets - who's slogan read 'The waiter's a miserable old sod and the chef's ugly but the food's good' (it was) – and had a meal fit for kings. The portions were huge (crappy phone photo) and the waiter was hilarious. Donning the appearance of a slightly more alcohol induced Santa Claus he shuffled around doing his duties whilst becoming increasingly drunk as the night went on. After a lock-in at the restaurant we went back to my friends' house (on the beach) and continued to get mashed. At 4am all of us headed down to the beach with a stereo and candles and watched the sunrise. It was mind-blowing.
I took a few photos but because of my mental state at the time only a few came out alright. As mentioned, unfortunately I couldn't change the shutter speed or aperture so I was stuck at 1/15 and F/3.6 in manual mode. Luckily this was perfect for this shot. For the others I had to switch to auto : (.
Taken at 6mm, F/3.6, shutter speed 1/15 and ISO-80. Some selective colour, curves and level adjustments in Photoshop.
