This was taken on a pier just after the Tate Museum on a night photography trip with a friend of mine. After relaxing in a bar with friends, he and I walked from Aldgate East to Piccadilly, taking photographs on the way. We got home at about 4am.
I absolutely love London at night, which is probably why most of my photography is done at night. I find it pleasantly calm and when walking along the river you can actually hear it without its neighbouring stream blocking it out.
I had taken this same photo a couple of nights ago, without a tripod which meant I had to rest the camera on the ground. It didn't come out the way I wanted it to, so I thought I would try it again with a tripod. However, it didn't come out as well as I had hoped. What do you think?
Taken at 7mm, F/4.5, exposure time 13 seconds and ISO-80. Slight contrast adjustment and de-saturation in Photoshop.
